As a mompreneur, I know first hand how difficult it can be to get your business the attention you desire. And let’s face it, advertising is NOT cheap and almost impossible in the beginning. So when I started blogging again a few months ago, it was with the intention to, not only promote my Etsy shop, but to help fellow mompreneurs as well – Etsians or otherwise. So, starting today, I will be featuring “fresh faces”, or moms like me working their tail feathers off to push their businesses beyond the walls of their homes. On select Fridays you can expect to be introduced to some wonderful ladies with some mean talent, and fabtastic products to share. Sometimes there will be a giveaway… sometimes not. Either way, I will NEVER charge an advertising fee for Fresh Faces Friday because it’s tough out there, and we mompreneurs need to stick together.
I happened upon MottoLove while creating a treasury. I instantly fell in love with Jenn’s work. You can tell even from her photos that she takes great care and pride in every single piece she creates. It’s true there are many stamped jewelry shops on Etsy, but each one is unique in it’s own way… just like their owners. Jenn’s shop is no exception. Her pieces have a fun flair that I’ve not seen in this line of jewelry making before. The girl has talent! But don’t take my word for it… see for yourself.
How ridiculously fabulous are these rings!?!?
Seriously… I must own one.
Now a bit about the mastermind behind this gorgeousness.
My name is Jenn Orr. I am a thirty-something wife and mom of two of the most adorable kids ever (I’m not biased at all). Just like so many shop owners on etsy, this is not my primary job. My occupation is in education – I have been a high school math teacher for 12 years. For the past 6 months, my preoccupation has been making jewelry. Last year, I wanted to buy some handstamped jewelry, and not yet knowing about the wonderful world of etsy, I found the prices OUTRAGEOUS! I decided that I could make it myself – I mean, how hard could it be??? HA! Countless hours, and a ridiculous amount of money later, I began making gifts for my family and friends and getting requests to make jewelry. A friend convinced me to sell on etsy in March of this year. I thought, at the very least, I could support my hobby habit and if it turned into more, great!
I chose the name mottolove because I love the idea that jewelry can be a conversation starter…a way to express your mood…a political statement…a talisman…or just a reminder to smile. That’s the idea behind my pieces. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoy making them. I love creating, playing, and working with metal but it is always a work in progress – I learn something new everyday. Hopefully my jewelry inspires, or at the very least, makes you smile. What’s your motto?
Isn’t she great?!?!
Here are a few more of her pieces that I just couldn’t leave out.
Well, my truffles, as you can see Jenn of MottoLove has many wonderful pieces to offer… with one of the widest selections of styles I’ve seen. Next time you are thinking of purchasing a handstamped piece, I hope you will go see Jenn over at MottoLove first.
Don’t forget to heart her shop so you can easily find her in the vast world of Etsy!
