My hubby speaks at conferences several times a year so he’s always adventuring to new destinations… without me.
I’m not bitter or anything.
I don’t mind that the most interesting place I’ve been in the last 3 years is my imagination.
Anyway, he has this sweet tradition of bringing me a coffee cup from wherever he travels to.
So, as you can imagine, my collection of coffee mugs is become very interesting indeed.
Hub’s most recent trip was to New York. He got home last night. And I must confess to you that before I even gave him a “Welcome Home” kiss, I stuck out my hands like a 2 year old wanting a cookie and said, “Where’s my cup?”
He tried to act as though he forgot, but who are we kidding… this guy takes care of his girl. I was not fooled.
He explained to me that he had no transportation while he was there and was at the mercy of others to get him from A to B, so he did not have any opportunities to shop. He said his only chance to shop was at the airport. So, as he fished out my new mug from his suitcase, he apologized for the lameness of it.
I unwrapped it….
Yep, it’s your typical tourist souvenir.
But it just seems so perfect.
And I love it!
