Two hot topics have been bugging the snot outta me. So I’m just going to take a few moments to rant & rave to my heart’s content and then I will never mention them again. I promise.
Little Miss California
Why, oh why, are we making a martyr out of her?
Yes, I will admit it was a delight unto my soul to hear about her holding fast to her beliefs regarding the sanctity of marriage. I was proud of her. She showed the public that it’s right to stand up for what you believe, even if it’s not popular. And for a brief moment in time, Miss California was a friend to Christianity.
But the honeymoon was very short.
I was exceedingly disappointed and annoyed to hear about her scandalous behavior in front of a certain photographer. Now, I really don’t care what life decisions this girl makes, but it deeply disturbs me when an individual in the public eye claims to hold Christian values and then mocks those same values with behaviors and choices that clearly do not reflect Christ.
And her excuse for these topless photos… a gust of wind blew her top off.
I am not kidding. That is what she said.
Don’t you just hate it when you’re standing there in front of a professional photographer and suddenly your top blows right off?! I hate that! It’s so embarrassing!
Come on… get real, Carrie!
Yes, I know that these photos were taken before she became Miss California. So, what? Her parents taught her homosexuality is wrong, but forgot to mention pornography or self-respect. I’m not buyin’ it. And if this young lady desires to be a role model to our little girls, well, she’s gonna need more than one stand-up moment. A testimony filled with holiness and humility is what she’ll need to influence my little girl. Just sayin’!
I’m not seeking perfection in anyone. We are human and have a sinful nature. However, that sinful nature that dwells inside of us is not meant to be used as justification for our wrong actions. I am not judging Miss California for her poor choices and obvious lack of character. What does light my hair on fire is that she caused Christianity as a whole to look like a joke to the world. I fervently wish that those who are going to be in the public eye would decide in advance if their choices will reflect God, or the world. But when they do both, all Christians suffer.
Bill & Kate Plus 8… or whatever it’s called
I honestly do not understand why everyone is so devastated and up-in-arms over this whole thing. And what idiot thought this show would be a good idea to begin with?
Yeah, let’s take a married couple and thrust them into the lime light by following them around with a camera crew 24-7. And since navigating a marriage with a camera in your face isn’t insanely difficult enough – let’s go ahead and add 8 bouncing bundles of spontaneity and mind-blowing chaos to the mix and see how long it takes for these two married individuals to dismember each other on camera. What a great idea!
And now everyone is in complete shock over what can only be described as ‘the only logical outcome to begin with’.
And yet, as this couple’s marriage and family falls apart, people all over the world sit transfixed to their tellies and watch in morbid fascination. Why? Instead of watching a stranger’s life crumble into tiny pieces, why not get up off that couch and go live yours?
And can I just say, parents that are so willing to exploit their children for profit and fame really have no business being parents to begin with. These poor children have been innocent victims in all of this so that the American people can be “entertained“. So sad.
And not at all entertaining.
