Today is the 1st birthday of Cora McClenahan who went to be with Jesus last month.
Like thousands of others, I have been deeply touch by the McClenahan’s story. If you haven’t read about them, go here. Have a box of tissue handy.
Anyway, I read on their blog that they were going to released pink balloons at her grave on her birthday. I had been trying to think of something I could do with my kids to celebrate such a beautiful, but tragically short little life. So, when I read about the pink balloons I immediately knew what to do.
The kids and I each wrote a note to Cora and attached them to our balloons to send off to her.
Before letting them go, we prayed in our front yard that the Lord would carry them to someone who needs the gospel. We wrote the McClenahan’s blog address on the notes, having faith that whoever finds the balloons will go to their site, have their heart stirred, and look to Jesus.
It was a beautiful time for us.
But my heart is broken and aches for Cora’s parents, Joel & Jess.
Please keep them in your prayers as they struggle to find strength for each passing day without their baby girl.
