I figure there are two kinds of people in the world; those with good intentions, and those that would have good intentions if forced to look beyond themselves. I tend to be a little bit of both… depending on the season of life. Ok, so I guess that makes three kinds of people.
The problem is, good intentions don’t benefit anyone unless those intentions are put into action. And this, my friends, is where so many of us fall short. I know I’m forever guilty of sitting on my good intentions for so long they finally sprout wings and fly away! Well, no more. This girl isn’t gonna sit around on her intentions any more! I’m retraining myself to look beyond my own problems, chaos, and stress with a weekly challenge.
Every week I am going to perform a random act of kindness, or R.A.K. The recipient might be a friend, a family member, or a complete stranger. I’ll post my intentions and once the R.A.K. has been fulfilled I will post the results. This, I hope, will help me to think of others no matter what is happening around me. The desired outcome will be a well formed habit that blesses lives and glorifies God.
I would be thrilled if you would take this challenge with me! It will be a great adventure! Every Monday I’ll post the R.A.K. and you can choose to do it or one of your own. And don’t forget… let me know how it went!
Hope to see ya Monday for the beginning of a beautiful thing.
KINDNESS – Don’t leave home without it!
