The perfect slice of cake is a piece of cake…

Sloppy cake cutting is a thing of the past!
You can use a flavorless, wax dental floss to make perfect slices in your cake. Pull off a piece of dental floss that is longer than the longest side of the cake. Wrap the ends of floss around your fingers to ensure the floss remains taut. Then, position the floss over the cake and slowly push it through the cake, cutting it in half. Once the floss is at the bottom of the cake, just let go of one end of the floss and pull it out the other side. Repeat until all cuts have been made. Make sure to wipe the floss clean each time.
Serve & enjoy!

Great idea! I have used that technique to cut cinnamon rolls but never to cut a cake. This is good timing, too–today’s WFMW post is a beet chocolate cake recipe!
I must try this, I wreck every cake I take a knife to. Thanks!
GENIUS, again! How cool are you?!?
Fantastic idea! I definitely need to try this. My cake-cutting skills need some fine-tuning!
COOL idea! You are such a fresh inspiration!!!
Brilliant and so simple. Thank you.
That is a great tip, I’ll have to try that next time I bake a cake! Thanks for sharing.
Clever!!!!
What an awesome idea, never thought of that~
Oooh…I would never think to do that to a cake!
They used to do that at a restaurant I worked at. Thanks for the reminder! It’s an awesome idea…and much needed one, as my slices always look terrible! lol
Clever! I’ve done that for cinnamon rolls, but I’ve never thought about it for cake! I might have to start keeping dental floss in the kitchen drawer. =)

What an AWESOME idea!!! I will definitely use this!!!
Just remember to use plain floss (not mint or cinnamon) so you don’t flavor the cake.
