So, I recently decided to become a self-taught chocolatier… ha! What was I thinking? It is way harder than I imagined. But I did come up with a shortcut or two.
For a simply sweet homemade truffle…
Just dig out your favorite fudge recipe! I’m serious. Fudge makes a great truffle!
Follow all the normal steps. The only thing you will do differently, is get the fudge out of the fridge before it becomes firm. You want it to still be a little soft so that you can roll it into balls.
After shaping the fudge into balls, roll them in your topping of choice such as powdered sugar, chopped nuts, or shredded coconut. You can also dip the balls of fudge in confectioners coating or tempered chocolate (if you’re feeling really domestic!)
For fun variations, use a white chocolate fudge recipe and flavor it with your favorite fruit extracts! You can even add a little food coloring to fancy them up!
Do this and your family will think you’re the best truffle maker in the world… they don’t need to know the truth.

Just what I need – more chocolate in my house!
Actually, I love this tip! And maybe one day when I get adventurous enough to try making real fudge, I’ll try this, too!
Oooh, what a great idea. Fudge I can do! I tried making white chocolate truffles once and they didn’t work. But I can make fudge. In fact I have a good PB Fudge recipe that would be good rolled in chocolate!
By the way…thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Brilliant and so yum! We were so on the same page this week
Genius.
What a great idea! I could do that! Thanks for linking this up along with your yummy marshmallow recipes!!
